			NORMAL
			- The Challenger Learning Center (CLC) at Heartland Community
College is inviting kids aged three through seven to “za-za-zooooom”
with Space Racers®, a new animated preschool series. The free event,
called Space Racers: Stars & Planets, takes place Saturday, January
17 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the CLC, 1500 W. Raab Road, Normal. |

            |
Space Racers® follows young spaceship cadets as they soar through
the Solar System, learning about the power of scientific
investigation and observation, the wonders of space exploration and
the importance of working together as a team. NASA scientists and
astronauts assisted in the development of the series, which airs
locally on Illinois Public Media WILL-TV Sundays at 9:30 a.m. and
nationwide on APT and PBS stations.
Flight Director Susan Evens hopes the event will introduce preschool
and young children to fun things at the CLC.

At the Space Racers® event, attendees will have the opportunity to
watch several episodes and participate in hands-on science
activities. Space Racers Co-Creator and Executive Producer, Julian
Cohen, will also share a behind-the-scenes look at how each animated
			character was brought to life.
“We’re so excited to be working with the CLC,” said Cohen. “Our
stories tap into children’s curiosity to discover and learn about
our solar system, which falls directly in line with the mission of
			the CLC.”
