The Logan County Board listened to nearly two hours of comments from the public at its January Workshop on Thursday night. The commentary focused on the proposed conditional use of land for the development of a wind farm that would be located mostly around the Mount Pulaski area. The meeting drew a large crowd necessitating the use of the third floor courtroom of the Logan County Courthouse. The larger crowd venue has rarely been required in all the years the board has met, and it’s only two years ago a zoning request that would permit a limestone quarry drew such interest.

Randy Brooks of the Atlanta Library Board of Directors accepts the "Delicious Destination Award" from Sarah Wallick of the Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan County on Friday morning. The Palms was given the award by the Illinois Tourism Bureau. The state agency recognized the Palms as being a unique and special Route 66 destination.

LINCOLN - The Lincoln Heritage Museum will unveil two new exhibits on January 26. “Now He Belongs to the Ages” commemorates the 150th anniversary of the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. The “Lincoln College, Embracing our Past, Empowering our Future” exhibit kicks off the celebration of Lincoln College’s sesquicentennial. Both exhibits will run through December.
