Thousands
of acres of Logan County farm fields have been
impacted by recent rains. Here in line with Lincoln
Lakes a few miles south of Lincoln, Salt Creek has
repeatedly breached its banks. Not all of the field
flooding is related to streams. Heavy rains have led
to debris blocking drainage, flooding roadways and
keeping soils saturated. Throughout the county
fields are showing signs of stress with patchy
shades of green, indicating an anticipated reduced
yield, and some acres have been long lost.
