A
full moon comes up over freshly planted Logan County
farm fields. Krueger elevator north of Lincoln is
seen to the left. Recent years extreme weather
patterns with heavy periodic rains have trended with
only five to six planting days. With the near
perfect planting conditions this spring, University
of Illinois Extension County Extension Director John
Fulton speculated that about 90% on corn and 40% on
soybeans had been planted.
Several farmers are waiting on the batch of upcoming
rains on planting beans, while others hit it hard.
