This
Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. there will be a
dedication of the new "Lincoln Rallies the People"
statue on the Logan County Courthouse lawn.
Well-known Abraham Lincoln historian and author Guy
Fraker will be the guest speaker for the day. The
statue was inspired by a speech given by Lincoln in
October of 1858 while running as the Republican
candidate for the U.S. Senate. On that
occasion, the downtown area filled with over 5,000
Logan County residents coming to support their
candidate. The Lincoln Statue Committee is hopeful
that all of Logan County will come together in
celebration of the statue, and would love to see the
downtown area once again filled for this special
dedication.
