This Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. there will be a dedication of the new "Lincoln Rallies the People" statue on the Logan County Courthouse lawn. Well-known Abraham Lincoln historian and author Guy Fraker will be the guest speaker for the day. The statue was inspired by a speech given by Lincoln in October of 1858 while running as the Republican candidate for the U.S.  Senate. On that occasion, the downtown area filled with over 5,000 Logan County residents coming to support their candidate. The Lincoln Statue Committee is hopeful that all of Logan County will come together in celebration of the statue, and would love to see the downtown area once again filled for this special dedication.

In observance of National Nursing Home Week, St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln kicked off Monday with special visitors Jasper and Bailey. The two miniature horses were brought inside to the activity room where residents enjoyed a time of hands-on interaction with the animals. According to Activity Director Rebecca Johnson, the residents were thrilled to be so close to the animals and enjoyed petting and talking to the little horses.
