In response to the “Fun!” theme of the Logan County Arts June exhibit, Moses Pinkerton created his acrylic “Alice Walton at Crystal Bridges in 2018,” slyly including two of his other smile-provoking works in the background of the painting. ‘Alice Walton,’ as well as fun artworks by nine other local artists will be on view at the Lincoln Art Institute from June 4 to July 6, 2015.

This year a new kind of food competition made its debut in local 4-H programs. The 4-H Food Challenge was held recently with members of the Logan, Sangamon and Menard County 4-Her’s going head-to-head with the Peoria County 4-H members. The competitors were given a selection of ingredients and were challenged to create a dish without a recipe, utilizing all the ingredients.

The Logan, Mason, Menard Team consisted of nine competitors. In the front row (left to right): Brooklynn Wieland and Courtney Wieland of Pleasant Plains-Sangamon County; Kahlan Merriman of New Holland Middletown-Logan County.
