It was a great day with indoor and outdoor activities that were fun
and entertaining for everyone. According to facility manager
Georgina Binzen, she surveyed the residents asking them how they
would like to celebrate the occasion. Their response was that they
wanted to hold an intimate family-style gathering, so that is what
			they did.

Friends and family were invited to come to the village starting at 2
p.m. While there they had the opportunity to visit with residents,
get better acquainted with the staff, and enjoy the atmosphere of
			the village.

There were some light activities planned that were enjoyed by
everyone. Binzen happily allowed herself to be the brunt of
everyone’s fun as she stood outside daring residents and guests
alike to throw a whipped cream pie right in her face. The event was
hugely popular with a lot of the kids in attendance. A couple of
staff members also took the opportunity to smack the boss around in
a good-natured way with a face full of pie![to top of second

Another popular activity was the cake walk,
which drew participation from several of the residents, who were
rewarded with wins of some really tasty looking sweets.

Of course, no celebration is complete without food, and there was
plenty of it on Saturday afternoon. Grilled hamburgers and hot dogs
were served, cooked by the staff of Timber Creek, and a dessert of
			cupcakes was also offered.
