Beginning
next week, possibly as early as Monday, Keokuk
Street (Business 55/Illinois Routes 121 & 10) will
be closed at the railroad crossing for work that is
related to the Illinois High-Speed Rail Program.
According to the Illinois Department of
Transportation High-Speed Rail website, the crossing
is scheduled to close the week of August 1st and
should reopen around August 22nd. For those who need
to navigate around the closure, the best means may
be to go south on North Logan or Kickapoo Street
depending on which direction you are coming from.
Drive three blocks to Tremont Street, and turn
toward the railroad tracks.
