Late
Friday afternoon, Lincoln Grand 8 Theater owner
David Lanterman and well known Logan County native
and director of the Disney animated movie, "Brave,"
Brenda Chapman prepared to enter the theater for the
first event of this weekend's Lincoln Film Festival.
The Festival is being put on by Lanterman with much
help from Chapman and in partnership with Lincoln
College. On Friday evening, Lanterman and Chapman
welcomed guests to a special showing of Steven
Spielberg's "Lincoln." After the film, guests would
cross over to the Logan County Courthouse for a gala
reception and an opportunity to speak with and hear
from Illinois Historian Dr. Samuel Wheeler. The film
festival will continue today and Sunday with a wide
variety of short and feature-length films as well as
a special showing of three Disney animated movies;
"Brave," "Enchanted," and the "Lion King."
