LINCOLN
- Recognizing the need caregivers have for support and the
challenges they face, the Christian Village is once again hosting
their local caregiver support group. Called Caregivers Together, the
group is open to all caregivers.

The Fall/Winter session is set to begin on September 26th, 2016 from
5PM-6:30PM. We will enjoy a light dinner and open forum discussion.
Throughout the year we will focus on different topics within the
caregiving spectrum. Those who attend will have the opportunity to
share what support they would like to see throughout the sessions.
We encourage you to bring your caregiving friends and family for
personal support as well.
“Providing care for a loved one can be an emotionally exhausting and
isolating venture,” noted Jo Hilliard, administrator at The
Christian Village. “Usually it runs in cycles, sometimes better and
sometimes more intense. Our goal is to offer a friendly arm to lean
on to remove the isolation factor and to provide emotional support.”

Nearly 30 % of the U.S. adult population at any time is providing care to a
family member or friend, according to the National Alliance for caregiving. More
than three-fourths of them want more help or information about caregiving
topics, but don’t know where to turn.
Meeting will be held at The Christian Village: 1507 7th Street Lincoln, IL. You
may contact Julie Bobell at 217-732-2189 to RSVP.
