On
Saturday evening, the Walk For Hope held at Scully
Park in Lincoln was focused on raising awareness of
the devastating effects of drug abuse, and to raise
money for life-saving Narcan kits that can be used
during heroin overdose to save a life. Among those
in attendance was Katherine Newton, whose sister
died less than a year ago as the result of an
overdose. It is a day that burns in Katherine's
memory and has prompted her to do more in the war
against drugs. Katherine said she speaks to teens
whenever possible about avoiding drugs and
addiction.
