On
April 10th the Illinois Department of
Transportation will begin construction work on
Business 55 in Lincoln. It was reported at a
meeting of the Lincoln City Council that this
will include sidewalk work near and at the
intersection of Woodlawn Road and Lincoln
Parkway (Bus. 55). The sidewalk work, according
to discussions held at the council meetings,
will make the area near the intersection safer
for pedestrians, who currently often walk along
the edge of the road to get to and from
businesses such as Kroger. It has not be
reported how far the sidewalk will go, but it is
expected to start in the vicinity of Casey's and
go west.
