This
photo of a steam-powered train engine is
currently on display at the Lincoln Art
Institute. The photo was manufactured
from a glass negative that is
approximately 100 years old. It is one
of many photos on display this month
courtesy of collector Patrick Moore, who
has accumulated a large number of glass
negatives of the photographer Howard
Tibbits.
Tibbits traveled across the country in
at the turn of the 20th century working
primarily for the railroad. The
collection on display contains many
amazing photos including a series
featuring the Najavo Indians. The LAI
will be open this weekend. If you love
history and love photography this is a
must see collection.
