At
the Tuesday night Committee of the Whole meeting of the Lincoln City
Council, Lincoln Park District Executive Director John Andrews
addressed the council. Andrews asked the council to consider deeding
over four city-owned parks to the LPD. Andrews said some grants
could be won for park improvements, but only if the park district
owns the property. Because the city has not had a fiscal budget that
could include park improvements, Andrews said the change in
ownership would equal, over time, significant improvements to city
parks.
