On
Saturday, members of the Logan County Board were on hand at the Meet
the Candidates event at the Oasis to visit with guests and encourage
everyone to support the proposal of a $0.50 per $100 sales tax to pay for
the restoration of the Logan County Courthouse.
There will be a referendum question on the March 17th ballot in
Logan County seeking permission from the voters to impose a
county-wide sales tax that will be applied to specific purchases
excluding medications and groceries. By choosing a sales tax over a
property tax, the county will raise funds for the courthouse project
not just from Logan County residents but from all who come into our
community and make purchases.
The board feels this is the best and most painless way to fund the
multi-million dollar project.
