On
Saturday morning the community is invited to New
Holland for a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30
a.m. at Styles Cafe'. Styles Lynn is the owner
of the pub across the street on the main drag at
New Holland. She's owned the pub for eight years
and always wanted to have a cafe'/restaurant
with the pub. However, the building was not
large enough for a bar and grill. The restaurant
across the street has been vacant for a while,
and Styles has considered taking the plunge. She
decided to go for it with help and support from
many friends and family.
Styles ribbon cut will be at 9:30 a.m.
|
Then at 10 a.m., the New
Holland Community group hosts a day of fun activities in
the community. Starting with a Jeep/car/truck crawl, a
water slide, rock wall for climbing, dunk tank, bags
tournament, scavenger hunt and a Golf Cart/ATV cruise
with stops for treats. The final event of the evening
will be live music by Tulor & Eads starting at 7 p.m.
So, come for the ribbon cut and stay for the day for
plenty of fun and games in New Holland.
Dock
Dogs is returning to Lincoln during the Balloons Over 66
weekend. The event will take place downtown in Lincoln
with competitions on Friday and Saturday.
Like all the other events this weekend, the competition
is free to spectators.
Balloons Over 66 organizer Seth Goodman reminds everyone
there are no admission fees for any of the events over
the weekend. Last year some unscrupulous people tried to
sell tickets to the events online. They are scammers and
not to be taken seriously.
