On
Wednesday, a small group of citizens gathered outside the Logan
County Courthouse for a bell-ringing ceremony celebrating the 59th
Inauguration of a President in the United States. Republicans and
Democrats followed the call made moments earlier by the newly
elected 46th President Joe Biden that our country re-unite as a
people.
Tonita Reifsteck and Gary Davis organized the event. Davis, who is
also the Chair of the Logan County Democrats, led the five-minutes
of ringing the bells at noon. Red and blue bells were given out.
Donations were accepted to benefit the Logan County Habitat for
Humanity.
Many citizens drove by and picked up a bell to ring privately.
Altogether, the event collected about $500 for Habitat.
