Today’s
Paint the Paper Pink pictures are from Chances R and
Regions bank. This is a good time to note that if your
breast cancer goes undetected, Chances R that it
can metastasize and spread into other Regions of
the body.
The Cancer Center website describes metastatic breast
cancer as this:
"Metastatic breast cancer is essentially stage four
breast cancer. It’s also referred to as advanced breast
cancer. The word “metastatic” refers to cancer that has
spread beyond the part of the body where it started. In
comparison, the term “localized” means the cancer is
contained to its primary site."
Not all stage four breast cancer will spread throughout
the body. When visiting with your doctors, listen for
the term "localized," which, as you read above, means
the cancer is thus far staying in one spot.
Remember, early detection is key to the survival of
breast cancer. Do those self-exams, get those
mammograms, and be proactive in your own health.
