Progress
continues on the new Illinois American Water Lincoln
South water treatment plant. The new plant, a $33
million investment, includes, "a new pump station with
increased delivery capacity of up to five million
gallons a day, enhanced treatment processes, and new
electrical and security systems to protect the plant in
the event of an emergency," says company representative
Karen Cotton.
Pictured is the beginning of construction on the new
water treatment plant main building and one of three
clarifiers. The new plant is expected to be online by
early 2023.
