On Saturday, Faith
Assembly Church at the north edge of Lincoln on Nicholson Road
offered free food and fun for the community.
Signs were posted along city streets inviting anyone who desired to
come out and enjoy a free fish meal courtesy of the church.
Outside in the expansive lawn at the church there were activities
for the youngsters including a bounce house, arrowhead making, and
other fun and games.
The DeMarchis Espresso truck was on hand for those who wanted a
tasty beverage while watching the kiddos play.
Big pieces of Catfish or buffalo fish were being served up to hungry
guests accompanied by a big serving of curly fries. For those who
preferred there were also hot dogs instead of the fish. Guests had
the option of eating outside under the large tent that was set up or
moving inside where the air condition was on and there was plenty of
time to sit, cool down, and eat up on a terrific meal.
And, of course, no church sponsored meal would be completed without
desserts and there were plenty of those to go around.
Guests came throughout the meal serving time, filling tables inside
and out and enjoying a terrific meal at no charge.
