The twentieth season of Lincoln
Speedway racing at the Logan County Fairgrounds will
commence this weekend.
Over the past few weeks the speedway has been a hot
button issue of the Lincoln City Council, but at the
last voting meeting held on Monday, April 3rd, aldermen
moved to support an extension of one end time or curfew
for the track for a special event hosted on May 11th.
For that event only, the race may run until 9:30 p.m.
instead of 9 p.m., and if needed may also use up to 30
minutes of extension time. Track representative Adam
Mackey said the goal of track managers for that night
will be to not use the extra extension and have the race
done by 9:30 p.m.
See details from the city council meeting in today’s
edition of Lincoln Daily News.
