Despite a few raindrops that canceled the outdoor movie, Friday night was a great way to spend the evening in downtown New Holland at the Family Fun Night. This monthly event is organized by the Village of New Holland and is only possible with volunteers and sponsors from the area. A big shout-out to this month’s event sponsors Cameron Harnacke Buildings, Key Defense, First National Bank in Tremont New Holland Banking Center, and Whitsel’s Accounting.

The New Holland Café offered smoothies and milkshakes in addition to other menu choices and the New Holland Banking Center passed out bags of popcorn. Wendy Monday from New Holland-Middletown Grade School guided children, as well as several adults, on how to decorate the sidewalks with various chalk and washable paints. Tiffany Carter provided endless glitter, feathers, braids, and removable tattoos to many boys and girls.

With fair time upon us, September 1st will be the next Family Fun Night with the New Holland Pub and S&K Davidson sponsoring. Keep an eye out on the Village of New Holland social media page for updates regarding the rescheduling of the rain-delayed movie, details for the September 1st Family Fun Night, and additional events such as Art Camp sign-up and Books & Crooks Mini Library hours.

This is another example of how small-town pride goes a long way for the community and their families.
