Controversial issues:
As a community we need to be able to talk openly about matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

Appreciation for our Local Law Enforcement

To the editor:

I wish to express my support and appreciation for the strong words by our Sheriff and Chief of Police, affirming their support of the Constitution.

It is very heartening to realize that our local LEOs stand with law abiding citizens in the face of the latest attack on our Second Amendment rights by Chicago liberals.

I encourage all residents of Logan County who value our constitutional freedoms to speak out, and tell Mark Landers and Joseph Meister how much you appreciate their support of gun owners, and against Gov. Pritzker and HB5471.
