Throughout the month of October several local businesses and organizations took the “Pink Challenge,” doing in-house fundraisers to benefit the American Cancer Society. The first of those organizations to make their donation via the Friends & Family Relay for Life team was the District 27 elementary schools in Lincoln. The schools hosted blue jean days where the staff and faculty could make a donation to the ACS and wear their blue jeans to school.

This year, the District 27 fundraiser earned $610 for ACS. The Check was presented to Karen Castelein by District 27 Superintendent Kent Froebe.

Thank-you to all the District 27 staff and faculty for your generosity!

EMERGENCY MESSAGE FROM MT. PULASKI MAYOR MATT BOBELL

Dear Residents,

I would like to remind everyone to be mindful of the following:
  • There have been 2 water main breaks in the last 24 hours, which has deeply affected our water supply which has caused the water shortage / outage.
  • If you do have water, please conserve all that you can.
  • No burning of any type outside, due to the water shortage / outage.  We don't want to cause any fire issues, when our water supply is this low.
  • We've reached out to American Water to bring bulk water for the residents of Mt. Pulaski.  They have indicated that they're working on it.
  • We understand this is a very frustrating situation, but please be patient with us and hopefully American Water will have these repairs done in the near future.
  • We will keep you posted on this situation as we are made aware of any ongoing changes.
Regards,
Mayor Matthew Bobell
