Today we feature a wide range of photos for our Pink Shirt pictures for breast cancer awareness. While these folks offer different perspectives in the community from lifestyle choices to consumer choices, these folks share a common thread. They are all connected to one another within their individual networks. They live together, work together, share a common goal of good health, or a common interest in our local history. While they are all separate entities, that common thread makes them a unified group.

When a person is diagnosed with cancer, breast cancer or otherwise, there is a time when they may wish they could talk with someone who has already “been there done that.” They want someone who shares that common thread of being a breast cancer warrior and survivor. Well, they can find those people that they need through the American Cancer Society.

The ACS offers support groups via text online chat groups, or one-on-one phone calls. The groups are made up of individuals who are survivors of specific types of cancer. The survivors are volunteers who want to help others through the battle, just as someone might have helped them. The support groups are free to all cancer warriors. To get started on the Breast Cancer group visit this link on the ACS website. ACS Reach To Recovery | Program Overview (cancer.org)
