[September 08, 2023]  LINCOLN - Joyce Darlene (Urke) Hindt, 83, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg, with family by her side.

Service:  Private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Obituary

Joyce Darlene (Urke) Hindt, 83, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg, with family by her side.

She was born, at home, on March 27, 1940, in Vesta, MN to Melvin & Isabel (Regnier) Urke. She married George Arthur Hindt on July 29, 1961. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents, her sisters, Phyllis, Shirley, June, Beverly, Carol, Mavis & Alona and her infant son and daughter, Jeffery and Jennifer.

She enjoyed camping, playing cards, gambling, gardening, sitting next to a fire, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Surviving are her sons, Terry (Sharon) Hindt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Tim (Jane) Hindt of Springfield, and Todd (Susan) Hindt of Lincoln, and a daughter, Peggy (Edward) Antoine of Lincoln, eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, two brothers, Delbert Urke, Doug (Connie) Urke and one sister, Linda Urke.

Per Joyce’s wishes, there will be a private memorial service and burial for her children and their families which will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
