Full-time Deputy
Clerk opening in the Logan County Supervisor of
Assessment’s Office.
Must be
dependable and available to work Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
with an hour lunch. A strong candidate will have experience
working with the public and be polite and courteous.
This position requires training so
you must be willing and able to learn.
Some job duties may include but are not limited to:

Assisting the public in person, via
telephone and through email

Administering and entering property tax
exemptions and forms
-
Entering sales data, name changes, filing
paperwork
Understanding and evaluating legal descriptions, deeds, and
other
documents
-
Submitting monthly sales data to Illinois
Department of Revenue
Oversees record retention and disposal
-
Assist the Board of Review with Board of
Review appeals/PTAB appeals
-
Assist the Supervisor
with splits and combinations of land
-
Work with
or communicate with the township assessors or other
township/city officials
This position
may at times assist the field assessor outdoors or in a vehicle
for long hours and may occasionally be in unpleasant weather
conditions. Assisting the field assessor would include but is
not limited to- visiting home sites and new construction sights,
measuring, and sketching buildings, taking photos, talking with
taxpayers.
Starting salary for this position is $35,000 annually.

ROAD MAINTENANCE CREW
The Logan County Highway Department is accepting
applications for a road maintenance position.
Duties will include equipment operation and
general labor needed to keep the County Highway system in good
repair. Applicants must be trustworthy and self-motivated.
Successful candidates will have good communications skills and
be able to work with limited supervision. Applicants should have
a background in construction and experience working with others
to accomplish assigned tasks.
Preferred experience includes the operation
of tandem axle trucks and various construction equipment.
Experience with truck-mounted snowplows is
also preferred. Applicants should be familiar with preventative
maintenance procedures of trucks and equipment.
Class B CDL with air brake endorsement is required within first
6 months of employment.
Residence in Logan County is required.
