On Monday night, criminals stole this beautiful pink tree erected in memory of Nicole Bottrell at the Downtown Lincoln Winter Wonderland on the square.

Winter Wonderland organizer Kathie Williams has made arrangements for a replacement tree. This evening (Wednesday, December 11th) at 6 p.m. the community is encouraged to come out and show their support for the family at the tree, located on the west side of the square, facing Kickapoo Street.

Williams has said that there have been many folks offering to bring ornaments for the tree. In order to not overwhelm the tree and also allow those who wish to show support , she asked that each donor bring only one ornament, and that one does not have to bring an ornament in order to attend and show support for the family.

She also noted to the Lincoln City Council on Tuesday evening, that the family has said the only ornament that they would truly love to see returned is the topper which was made by Nicole’s father and features her photo in a golden heart with wings.

Anyone who might have knowledge of the topper is asked to return it. Williams said it can be done anonymously by leaving it on the doorstep of her store (Small Town Creations) at any time.

The New Holland Christmas Parade was held on Saturday, December 7th with a time of food, fellowship, and visits with Santa hosted at the New Holland Fire House afterward.

This year the Grand Marshal of the parade was Danny Dean. During the social house, he and Santa posed for a great photo for Lincoln Daily News.

See more of the parade in today’s edition of Lincoln Daily News.
