According to Lincoln
Park District director Becky Strait, the LPD
maintenance staff consisting of Vern Haseley, Tony
Meyer and Reggie Kirby have been hard at work this
week making a big improvement in the indoor sports
complex. The crew has replaced 63 light fixtures,
transitioning from fluorescent lights to LED
lighting. The old lighting was insufficient for the
facility needs. With the new fixtures the lumen
levels have been raised making for brighter clearer
vision inside the complex. Strait said that the new
lighting does not require a warm-up and cool down
period, lighting comes on quicker and is obviously
brighter. She said that already the upgrade is
getting positive feedback from patrons.
