[February 08, 2024]  LINCOLN -  Ronald Edward Coyne, 87, of Princeton, passed away peacefully at 8:25 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2024, at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.

Service:  A private interment will take place at a later date

Ronald Edward Coyne, 87, of Princeton, passed away peacefully at 8:25 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2024, at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home and a private interment will take place at a later date.

Ron was born in Cullom, IL., on March 23, 1936, the son of Clarence and Marie (Birkenbiel) Coyne. Ron graduated from Forrest High School in 1954. He attended the University of Illinois and Illinois State University.

Ron sold drainage tile for over 50 years for Diller Tile, Chatsworth and Advanced Drainage Systems of Rock Falls.

Ron didn't know a stranger. He would remember dates, numbers, and names. He was an avid sports fan, and he attended his kids and grandkids ball games.

He will always be remembered as a kindhearted loving husband, dad, grandpa, and papa.

Survivors include his sister Liz Custer of Forrest, brother-in-law Edward Cronic of Bloomington, daughter Cindy Hahn of Spring, TX, two sons: Chris Coyne (Tia Taylor) of Lincoln, and Craig Coyne (Heather) of Huntersville, NC; his first wife Carolyn Lindquist of Spring, TX. , longtime partner Joyce Marshall of Princeton; grandchildren: Jen Bowen, Juli Mercado (JR), Lindsey Medford (Sam), Brant Coyne (Ali), Jaiden Coyne, Brooks Coyne, and Griffin Coyne; great grandchildren: Triston Mendoza, Gisele Mendoza, Sofia Bowen, and Kamari Bowen; nieces Tammy Custer and Kim Brucker; stepdaughters Laura Weber of Katy, TX. and Wendy Sims of Tiskilwa, IL.; and step grandchildren Jessie Sims, Savanah Sims, and Brady Gross all of Tiskilwa, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Claire Cronic and Wanda Coyne, broth in law Don Custer, and great grandson Sosa Mendoza.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and lymphoma Society.

The family would like to thank Dr. "J." and the Illinois Cancer Center of Peoria, IL., OSF Hospital of Princeton, Allure Nursing Home of Walnut, St. Francis Hospital of Peoria, and St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln for all of the excellent care they gave to our dad.
