[January 16, 2024]  ATLANTA -  Janet F. Bell, 68, of Atlanta passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield.

Rosary:  Friday, January 19, 2024, from 4:30 p.m. at the Quiram Peasley Funeral Home

Visitation:  Friday, January 19, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home

Additional time of visitation Saturday at 10 a.m. prior to the service

Service:  Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home

Obituary

Janet F. Bell, 68, of Atlanta, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield.

A Rosary Prayer Service will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024, at the Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta, followed by Visitation from 5:00 p.m .- 7:00 p.m.. Additional visitation will be Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Quiram Peasley Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Dondanville officiating. Burial will follow at the Atlanta Cemetery.

Janet Fae Bell was born on January 17, 1955, in Peoria, the daughter of Herbert L and Doris Thompson Maxey, Sr. She was united in marriage to Joseph A. Bell on December 27, 1977. He survives.

Also surviving are her children: Joseph (Allie) Bell, Michael (Yasuko) Bell, and Jennifer (Aaron Leesman) Bell; eight grandchildren: Cameron, Nick, Liam, Lexi, Claire, Nolan, Hadley, and Jorie; two sisters: Karen (Dusty) Lowery and Carol Cowart; and one brother: Herbert L. Maxey, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister: Helen Storms, two brothers: James Maxey and Allen Maxey; and two infant grandsons: Brayden Joseph Bottles and Whelan Joseph Bell.

Janet graduated from the Washington Community High School in Washington, Illinois, in 1973. She was employed at General Electric in Bloomington for 35 years. Her hobbies included reading, watching movies, and her dog, Missy.

Memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund.
