On Saturday, March 16, the Hartsburg Founder’s Day Committee hosted Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the Hartsburg American Legion building.

Committee members prepared and served a delicious breakfast of pancakes and sausage plus coffee, water or orange juice.

There were also tables with a variety of baked goods including cupcakes topped with jellybeans, cookies, corn muffins, cinnamon rolls, an apple cake, caramel pecan bars, pies and a sweet Easter bunny trail mix. People could write down a bid on two scrumptious looking cakes, which would go to the highest bidder.

Hartsburg Emden School district librarian Nichole Folkman had a table full of books out of circulation to give away free. She goes to several places during the year with books to share so others can enjoy reading them.

Many children had a chance to pose for a photo with the Easter Bunny then get a bag with treats and a stuffed animal from him.

A few children slowly approached the Easter bunny, but then sat right beside him with a big smile. Others were extremely excited to see the Easter Bunny. Some even hugged him, played peek a boo or shared a toy with him.

It was a fun day for the whole family to enjoy a great breakfast, visit with friends and family and meet the Easter Bunny.
