Controversial issues:
As a community we need to be able to talk openly about matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

Library Alley - Can all parties come together and take care of this?

To the editor:

Do you know the saying “quit complaining or do something about it?”

The alley between the main Library and the Library Annex - what an eyesore.

This alley is more than just an alley. It is an alley that transports people, young and old to a world of imagination. The Lincoln Public Library offers an opportunity for all ages to lose themselves in wonderment of facts or fiction.

Now, just imagine if you were pushing a stroller, riding a bicycle, using a cane, using a walker, using a wheel chair or just having trouble in general with walking. Navigating might not come easy, due to large amounts of broken asphalt.

Is there any possibility that all parties can come together and take on the task of repairing this alley?

Thank you to the Street and Alley Department, Mayor Tracy Welch, and Alderman Steve Parrott for taking my call.
