Today we have three photos in our pink shirt presentation with all three pertaining to the city of Lincoln. On the top left is the staff at Lincoln City Hall. On the lower left is the Lincoln City Council members, and on the right is the crew at the municipal services building.

Within city government, there are many components that have to come together and work well together in order to keep the city moving forward. Each has large responsibilities that cannot be ignored or short changed.

When it comes to our health, there are definitely some similarities. Our bodies are made up of various parts that all have to work well together in order for us to function. When something is awry with one part, the entire body will suffer. The bottom line is, when something doesn’t feel “right” don’t ignore it. Don’t shortchange yourself by thinking that whatever it is will go away, or that it isn’t that big a deal. Every change in your breast could be a signal you need to heed, and if you don’t, it could have an eventual impact on your entire body. Not all changes are cancer, but why risk it, and why wonder when you can find out with a visit to your doctor?

Have you seen it? If you haven’t been downtown this week, you might want to take a little cruise from north to south on Kickapoo Street and at the corner of Pekin take a good look at the new Route 66 mural that is now located alongside the Rio Grande Restaurant.
