Lincoln re-christened
Bob Rankin read the town’s early history of
Robert Latham, Virgil Hickox, and John Dean
Gillette (played by Daris Knauer, Ron Keller,
and Tom McLaughlin photo 7564) purchasing
sections of land, choosing to name the new
town Lincoln, and asking Abraham Lincoln to
christen it.
Abraham Lincoln (played by Gary Simpkins)
then re-christened the town saying “I now
christen this town Lincoln” and poured
watermelon juice on the ground.
He then invited kids to eat slices of the
watermelon.
