Ray Peterson

Ray O. Peterson, 77, of Mount Pulaski died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at 11:10 a.m. at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Visitation was Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

His funeral service was Monday morning at the Mount Pulaski funeral home, with John Robertson officiating.

Burial, with military rites, is in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Mr. Peterson was employed at Hoblits and Diamond Shamrock in Atlanta until 1977 and then worked as a furniture repairman at Stahl's Furniture, Mount Pulaski, until his retirement.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He was born Dec. 6, 1925, in Lake Fork to George O. and Margaret J. Bryson Peterson. He married Nola Jean Mason in Mount Pulaski on March 3, 1949. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Dennis Ray Peterson of Mount Pulaski; one sister, Meredith "Dot" (and Herman) Bohn of Elkhart; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was a member of Lake Fork Christian Church.

Wilford Schaffenacker

Wilford H. Schaffenacker, 85, of Mount Pulaski died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at 8:30 a.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Paul Droegemueller and the Rev. Ron Pennekamp officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Mr. Schaffenacker farmed in the Mount Pulaski area until his retirement.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or School of Mount Pulaski, American Heart Association, or Boy Scout Troop 122 of Mount Pulaski.
