Peacock takes over duties previously
handled by Ille as director of the UI compliance staff. Peacock
comes to Illinois from Toledo, where he was assistant athletics
director for compliance and administrative services since 1998. He
also served as director of compliance at Towson University from 1995
to 1997 and as assistant director of compliance at the University of
Cincinnati from 1994 to 1995. Peacock earned his bachelor's degree
in business from Miami University in 1990 and his master's in sports
management at the University of Massachusetts in 1995.
In other staff additions, Clarissa
Gentzler, a native of Paxton and 2000 graduate of Eastern Illinois
University, has joined the academic services staff as the
grant-in-aid specialist, and Brian Collette is the new assistant
athletics trainer. Collette, a 1998 graduate of the University of
Iowa, will work with football and wrestling. He comes to Illinois
after working at Iowa State as a graduate assistant and at Upper
Iowa University the last two years.

The sports information office has added
Travis Steiner and Kevin Walsh as sports information interns. Both
are 2003 graduates of the University of Illinois.
Brian Hodges, a four-year letterman for
the Illini football squad from 1998-2001, was named the graduate
assistant for football operations and will assist the director of
football operations, Lloyd Richards. Hodges is a 2001 graduate of
the University of Illinois.
