[JULY 16, 2003]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership.

Birthday party

Join us Monday, July 21, at 1:30 p.m. for the celebration of July birthdays. There will be games, prizes, entertainment, cake and ice cream.

Veterans Administration

The Veterans Administration representative will be at The Oasis on Tuesday, July 22, from 9 a.m. until noon. No appointment is necessary.

Legal aid

Appointments are still available on Thursday, July 24, from 9 a.m. until noon for legal assistance for seniors and their caregivers. If you are unable to come to The Oasis for an appointment, arrangements can be made for the attorney to see you in your home. Call 732-6132 for more information.

Van service

The Oasis van will take the first 12 people who sign up to Senior Day at the Logan County Fair. The van will leave at 11 a.m. Aug. 1 and return at 4 p.m. There will be no charge for this special service.
