Citizens should band together against water rate increase

To the editor:

I just read in the paper online where ICC has put in different percentage increases regarding a water rate increase.

I do not serve on a committee and am unemployed, but I do receive a disability check once a month, which puts me in a low income level. I am against this rate increase because it will be impossible for ones like myself, senior citizens, the unemployed and ones with young ones and ones who are working for minimum wage to make ends meet. People, especially seniors, have it rough now deciding whether to pay rent or pay for their needed medicine.

I think a petition should be started and then in August be presented to ICC to show that the town of Lincoln, Ill., is against this. This is just one person’s opinion, but when everyone sticks together, victory will be won.
