ALMH employees don hats to show support for cancer patients     Send a link to a friend

[OCT. 31, 2003]  Employees at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital are participating in "Hat Day" today (Friday). The day brings awareness of cancer and shows support for all those who have suffered hair loss due to chemotherapy treatment.

ALMH employees will gather on the ALMH helicopter pad at 3 p.m. to pose for a group picture with their favorite hats. Hats will be judged and prizes will be awarded based on three categories: largest, most outlandish, and most fitting to personality.

Hat Day is part of the hospital's observance of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

All women are encouraged to take the steps of early detection, including annual mammograms for all women over age 40. For more information about mammograms, call the ALMH Radiology Department at (217) 732-2161, ext. 160 or e-mail xrays@almh.org.
