Lyle Doom

Lyle C. Doom, 88, of Lincoln died Thursday (Oct. 2, 2003) at 12:10 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with Tom Gerdts and Paul Odom officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield.

Mr. Doom was a retired farmer.

He was born Jan. 5, 1915, near Athens to Elmer C. and Jessie May Sexton Doom. He married Marjorie Priddy on Dec. 4, 1939, in Bowling Green, Mo.

Survivors are his wife, of Lincoln; two sons, Robert (and Sharon) Doom of Glendale, Ariz., and David (and Linda) Doom of Springfield; two daughters, Elaine (and Roy) Logsdon of Centerville, Iowa, and Diane (and Tim) Ingalsbe of Cantrall; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Wilma Hale of Springfield.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

He was a member of Lincoln Christian Church and the Friendship Corner class of the church. He was also a member of Logan County Farm Bureau and had served on the Elkhart Grade School board.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or Lincoln Christian Church.
