Governor opens online petition to support efforts to reduce Rx costs     Send a link to a friend

[OCT. 15, 2003]  Gov. Rod Blagojevich wants to bring down prescription drug prices to save money for taxpayers and consumers in Illinois. He is asking the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to allow Illinois to explore a plan to import approved medications from Canada for half the price.

Gov. Blagojevich wishes to reduce the cost of prescription drugs so that our seniors will not have to choose between buying food and paying for costly prescription drugs. The governor is lobbying the federal government to allow the importation of drugs from Canada at significantly lower prices, providing substantial cost savings for Illinois residents needing prescription drugs.

You can help Gov. Blagojevich put pressure on the FDA to recognize the drug price crisis in the U.S. and to reverse its policy banning U.S. consumers and local governments from buying their medications for less in Canada.
