In the opener, Parkland banged out 10
hits and was aided by wildness on the part of the LC pitchers, as
seven batters reached base being hit by a pitch. The Lynx pitchers
also gave up three walks and the defense committed five errors.
Parkland broke the game open in the sixth inning with six runs.
Colar was the winning pitcher for
the Cobras while Matt Miller took the loss. Miller pitched five
innings, giving up just two hits, but walked two and hit five. He
gave up six runs, four earned. Rich Ennis and Kyle Bruce each
pitched one inning for the Lynx. Adam York, Bryant Wright and Brian
Rynearson each had two hits in the opener, with York scoring a run
and driving in one. Wright scored one run. Brad Hall and Jake Jones
had the other Lincoln hits.
In the second game, Max McCorvie
suffered the loss, pitching the first two innings, giving up three
hits and six runs, five earned. He walked four and struck out none.
Jarad Otloe pitched three innings, allowing a pair of hits and one
run with one walk and a strikeout. Colton McClellan pitched 1/3
inning before leaving with an injury, and Blaen Fletcher pitched the
final 1 2/3 innings, allowing a pair of hits and one run with three
walks.
Hall and Jason Williams each had two
hits for the Lynx, with Hall scoring a pair of runs and driving in
one while Williams also had a RBI. Lincoln managed nine hits in the
second game with Wright, Jones, Rynearson, Tyler Casson and Kyle
Killenger collecting one each.
