LINCOLN -- Ruby Evelyn Hurley, 85, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at 10:50 p.m. at Maple Ridge Care Centre.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Allen Dean officiating.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Hurley was a homemaker and retired sexton's assistant for Holy Cross Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 13, 1920, in Diller, Neb., to Orville and Eva Pitts Dean. She married Carl Hurley Jr. on Nov. 4, 1939, in New London, Mo. He died Aug. 1, 2002.

She is survived by two sons, Richard (and Karen) Hurley of Chenoa, Carl (and Marsha) Hurley of Lincoln; three daughters, Connie Harp of Lincoln, Kay (and Don) Carlin of Chestnut and Marsha A. Hurley of Champaign; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Bernice Dean of Broadwell and Delka Sullivan of Lincoln.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Roy Dean; one son, Roy Hurley; and one sister, Florence Broughton.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Illinois.

ATLANTA -- Clarence Carl Davis, 80, of Atlanta, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at 2:22 p.m. at Maple Ridge Care Centre in Lincoln.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Quiram Funeral Home, with Maurice Stribling officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Interment of cremains will be in Atlanta Cemetery.

Mr. Davis retired from Eaton Corp. in Lincoln, where he was employed for 28 years.

He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

He was born Dec. 23, 1924, at Springfield to Clarence and Blanche Anderson Davis. He married Wanda Hart in 1965, and she died in 1988. He married Wilma Halsey in 1991. She survives.

Other survivors are three stepsons, Chris (and Nancy) Sprague of Lincoln, Rick (and Janet) Halsey of Atlanta and Mike (and Carol) Halsey of Las Vegas, Nev.; three stepdaughters, Linda (and Dan) Brooks of Atlanta, Sandra (and Lee) Martin of Suwanee, Ga., and Karen (and Rick) Baxter of Hendersonville, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Maple Ridge Care Centre in Lincoln or Hospice Care of Illinois.
