LINCOLN -- Mary Belle Begolka, 68, of Lincoln, died
Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at 1:37 p.m. at Memorial Medical
Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with the Rev. Richard Reinwald
officiating.
Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Begolka was a homemaker. She had previously worked
at Stetson China Factory
She was born Dec. 21, 1936, in Lincoln to Wilbur A. and
Helen Webb Engelmann. She married Harold E. Begolka on Sept.
1, 1963, in Lincoln.
She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; two sons,
Eugene Begolka Jr. of Springfield and Larry (and Sheri)
Begolka of West Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter, Laura
Begolka of Springfield; two grandchildren; and two sisters,
Patricia (and Carl) Foster of Waynesville and Lillyetta (and
Arlie) Meyer of Verona, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister,
Bertha Engelmann.
She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ.
Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation
or American Diabetes Association.

LINCOLN -- Vincent "Cap" Ey, 91, of Lincoln died Sunday,
June 26, 2005, at 10:30 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in
Springfield.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at Holland and Barry
Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Reinwald officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.
Mr. Ey retired from Logan County Bank in 1985 as vice
president and board member. He had been an operational partner
in Ey's Bakery from 1947 to 1968.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was born Jan. 18, 1914, at Mount Pulaski to Charles A.
and Louise M. VonDer Heide Ey. He and his wife, Mildred
"Bugs," were married Aug. 10, 1947, in Mount Pulaski. She died
Sept. 22, 2000.
He is survived by three grandchildren, Dr. Steven (and
Dalia) Ey of Aliso Viejo, Calif.; Cynthia L. Ey of Geneseo and
Kathryn Espirite of Munster, Ind.; one great-grandson, Omar Ey;
one sister, Louise Ey of Mount Pulaski; two nephews, Dr. John
Ey of Portland, Ore., and Gary Ey of Springfield; and one
niece, June A. Reich of Western Springs.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Dr. Richard Ey;
two brothers, Otto H. Ey and Carl W. Ey; and one sister,
Lillian Hutchcraft.
He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ.
