LINCOLN -- Bertha Mae Dieckman, 89, of Clinton, formerly
of West Frankfort, died Monday, July 18, 2005, at 4:10 a.m.
at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at
East Lawn Memorial Gardens at Energy. The Rev. Kent
Hickerson will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to
10:30 a.m. at the cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home.
Ms. Dieckman was retired from factory work in Chicago.
She was born March 13, 1916, in Polk County.
She is survived by three nieces, Jean (and Dennis) Carter
of Lincoln, Barbara (and Allen) Trago of Clinton and Gina
Shelby of Lincoln; two nephews, Billy Shelby of Lincoln and
Joe (and Kathy) Russell of Oklahoma; and two sisters, Hazel
Owens of Lincoln and Pearl Russell of Kevil, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus N. Shelby
and Alta Mae Hill Shelby Hutson, and three brothers, Billy
G. Shelby, Leo Shelby and an infant brother.
She was of the Christian faith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American
Cancer Society or to the donor's choice.
