Amber recently received three honors: She was inducted into the
Western Illinois chapter of Blue Key. The Blue Key is
an honorary fraternity for juniors and seniors who have combined
academic achievement with cocurricular involvement. Blue Key
recognizes and honors upper-division students who have shown
outstanding qualities of scholarship, service and leadership, while
maintaining above a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average.
She was recently named president of the Western Illinois
University chapter of the Association for Educational Communications
and Technology. This is a national organization whose purpose is to
provide leadership by promoting scholarship and best practices in
the creation, use and management of technologies for effective
instruction and learning in a wide range of settings. Western will
be the head chapter of the association in Illinois for the academic
year 2005-2006.
Amber just received the position of graduate assistant from
Western Illinois University's Department of Educational Leadership.
She was selected from several applicants and was chosen because of
her credentials and for having the highest quality in demonstration
of skills on the performance tasks. She will be graduate assistant
during the two years she attends graduate school at Western.
Heather Lane Otto
Heather was recently inducted into two societies. She was
inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society based upon
her academic success and being in the top 15 percent of all juniors
and seniors at Northern Illinois University.

Golden Key is the largest and most active honor society in the
world, with 350 chapters at leading colleges and universities. The
society recognizes and promotes academic excellence and continued
achievement.
She also was inducted into the Order of Omega, which is a
national organization recognizing members in the college and
university Greek communities for their academic excellence. To be
inducted into the Order of Omega, one must have achieved and
maintained a 3.50 grade-point average and be involved in
extracurricular activities. Heather has been elected as the recorder
of this chapter for the 2005-2006 academic year at Northern Illinois
University.
Heather was also promoted as the news director for Northern
Illinois University's NS Radio. For the last two years she has been
a host of an afternoon music talk show for the campus radio station.
Lastly, she was just selected from candidates from across the
United States to a summer internship position at WUSA, a CBS
Broadcasting affiliate in Washington, D.C. She will be studying and
working in the news department.
