ATLANTA -- Mildred L. Turner, 85, of Atlanta, died Thursday, March 17, 2005, at 9:43 a.m. at the Christian Village in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Atlanta Christian Church, with Maurice Stribling officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to the service on Sunday.

Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.

Quiram Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Turner was a homemaker for her family.

She was born July 25, 1919, in rural McLean to Charles W. and Venus McLellan Demling. She married William H. Turner on Aug. 7, 1937, at Covington, Ind. He died Feb. 12, 2004.

She is survived by five children, Beverly (and Tom) Johnson of Flint, Texas, Wayne (and Connie) Turner of Atlanta, Kent Turner of Bloomington, Jane (and Richard) Borowski of Delaware, Ohio, and Dana (and Lori) Turner of Richland, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one sister.

She was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church, Eminence Ladies Aid, Atlanta Ladies Cemetery Association and the Mother of Twins Club. She was a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star and member of the Atlanta Woman’s Club. She also was a Key Lady for the Lincoln Christian Nursing Home for 25 years.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Atlanta Christian Church, Lincoln Christian Village or Visiting Nurse Association of Central Illinois, 720 N. Bond St., Springfield, IL 62702.
