LC vs. top-ranked Brown Mackie          Send a link to a friend

[MARCH 25, 2005]  DANVILLE -- Top-ranked Brown Mackie rallied in the second half to down Lincoln College 71-65 in the NJCAA Division II National Basketball Tournament here Thursday night. The loss drops Lincoln College into the 3 p.m. game Friday against Rock Island Community College in the consolation division.

Brown Mackie (33-1) trailed the Lynx 33-29 at the half, but the No. 1-ranked team rallied for 42 second-half points while holding Lincoln College to 32. The Lynx were within two points in the final minute but were forced to foul, and Brown Mackie connected on the foul shots to push the final margin to six points.

Lincoln College connected on 48 percent of its first-half field goals (14-29) but was able to hit just 36 percent the second half (12-33). Brown Mackie hit 61 percent (14-23) in the second half to gain the victory.

Rodney Williams scored 19 points to lead three Lincoln College players in double figures. Aaron Williams added 15 and Michael Henderson had 11. Four players from Brown Mackie reached double figures, led by Dominic Bishop with 18.
