HARTSBURG -- Martha L. Sloan, 89, of Hartsburg died
Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, at 12:40 p.m. at Maple Ridge Care
Centre in Lincoln.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's
Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Russell officiating.
Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Mrs. Sloan had been a cook at Williamsville Grade School
and High School.
She was born June 1, 1916, at Atlanta to Nanke and Tena
Conrady Klockenga. She married Stephen E. "Bud" Sloan in
Lincoln on Oct. 15, 1939.
She is survived by her husband, of Hartsburg; two sons,
Jim (and Carol) Sloan of Lincoln and William Lee (and
Barbara) Sloan of Sherman; one daughter, Frances "Fran"
Petersen of Lincoln; six grandchildren; and 10
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Edward Sloan;
one daughter, Joyce Seaman Detmers; and three brothers.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and an
avid quilter with a group at the church.
